Civic Responsibility While Lambda Sigma Gamma remains active in a wide variety of philanthropic services, the sorority’s main objective is to bring awareness and support to early Education. Our responsibility and commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children continualy guides our efforts. We do this by giving back to our communities via scholarships, fundraisers, donations, contributions, partnerships, volunteerism and other various philanthropic programs at each of our respective chapters. In 1989, Lambda Sigma Gamma adopted the California Head Start Program as its' official national philanthropy. At the local level, we encourage each individual sister to spread our volunteerism to numerous causes and non-profit organizations post their udergraduate years. Scholastic Excellence Lambda Sigma Gamma continously promotes sound learning and our members constantly strive to further their intellectual development throughout their lives. We are committed to seeing that all of our members achieve academic success, therefor each sister is challenged to strive for scholastic achievement through setting high academic goals, regular classroom attendance and class participation. Chapters focus on attaining these efforts through incentive programs, study buddies, library hours, recognition, tutoring, alumnae mentoring and study skills education. For Parents Lambda Sigma Gamma believes that creating a special bond with parents is a key element in the success of your daughter's college experience. Therefore, we hope that this page can provide you with additional information about our organization. Lambda Sigma Gamma is an academic, social, and philanthropic sorority. We do our best to provide each of our members and future members with the tools necessary to do well in college and GRADUATE! We feel that academics are an important part in an individuals life and we are here to help in any way we can to make sure that each of our members excels academically. Our Commitment to Academics: Althought you may think that being in a sorority will cause your child's academic work to suffer, in reality the opposite is true. We encourage our members to make school their top priority and we are proud to say that many of them are members of Honor Societies, Dean Lists, Order of Omega & have been recognized for their high academic achievement. Hazing Statement: Lambda Sigma Gamma has a no hazing policy and has a record for no tolerance in any type of hazing incidents. We believe in the well being of our members and that of our future members. We believe in trusting each other and treating each other with respect. Our new member process is alcohol and drug free and we are a leader in the educating of our members and future members on the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Most Lambda Sigma Gamma events are alcohol free and comprise of various sisterhood event and bonding times. Our Commitment to our Community: We encourage giving back to our community. Through various philanthropic events and community service project, we instill in all of our members the importance of taking care of the communities that we live in. We do thousands of hours of community service throughout the state collectively, and we do this by beach clean-up, adopt-a-highways, tutoring and mentoring kids, blood drives, and so much more. We feel that taking care of our communities today will lead to better communities and lifestyles for our children in the future. Our Commitment to Each Other: Lambda Sigma Gamma will offer professional, academic, and leadership guidance and support to local chapters on a national level. The officers will be under guidance and supervision of the national board officers that oversee their specific office. There are also mandatory leadership conferences for new chapters and new members to better prepare and assist them in their establishment as a members of Lambda Sigma Gamma. Our Commitment to You: We feel that as parents it is important that you become involved in your daughter’s interests and university life. Many of our chapters hold Parent Nights, which gives parents an opportunity to meet us and ask us questions. Many chapters hold Annual Family Day’s, BBQ’s, and Picnics. By doing this, it gives us a chance to meet you and the rest of your family as your daughter is now a part of ours. We are available to you at any time so please feel free to contact our National President should you have any general questions, or contact your local Chapter President should you have any specific questions about the campus your daughter is planning on attending.  Feel free to browse through our website and see the various parts that make up our organization and what we are truly about. We hope that we have helped ease your doubts about sororities and about Lambda Sigma Gamma and that we have given some light to what we are about. Also know that once your daughter joins our organization, you as well become a part of our family and we are happy and excited to have you!
