It
is with great sadness that we inform
Sisters of the passing of Juan Ayala,
husband of our Sister Monica Valdez-Ayala
(XA).
Juan
was the vicitm of a hit and run accident
on Saturday, March 15, 2008.
He
was a friend to many of our Xi Chapter
sisters, as well as a Founding Father
of Nu Alpha Kappa at UC Riverside.
Juan
and Monica met during the Summer of
1999. Although both were from the
same hometown - Parlier, CA - they
did not meet until Monica's Freshmen
year at UC Riverside. It was love
at first sight - and from the moment
they met the couple was inseparable.
Wherever Monica was, you would find
Juan. Juan and Monica supported one
another throughout their college years.
They were each founding members of
the LSG and NAK chapters at UC Riverside,
and thus part of creating endless
memories for the many members that
have since become a part of these
chapter families.
While attending UCR, Juan proposed
to Monica. After Graduation, the couple
moved back to their hometown where
they were married on September 25,
2004 and where they have lived ever
since.
Our
thoughts and prayers go out to Monica,
the Ayala & Valdez Families, as
well as to the Brothers of Nu Alpha
Kappa Fraternity, Inc. for their loss.
